- By gut health I mean you digestive system’s health.
- The Gut Microbiome
- The gut microbiome refers to the diverse community of microorganisms living in our digestive tract. These include bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other microbes. The gut microbiome plays a crucial role in various aspects of our health, including digestion, immunity, metabolism, and even mental health. It helps break down food, produce essential nutrients, and protect against harmful pathogens.
- An imbalance in the gut microbiome, known as dysbiosis, can lead to various health issues, such as digestive disorders, autoimmune diseases, obesity, and mood disorders. Therefore, maintaining a healthy balance of gut bacteria is essential for overall well-being.

- Diet, lifestyle, stress, and medications are some factors effecting our gut health.

Maintaining a Good Gut Health ✅
- Healthy Eating Habits
- Always remember the Golden rule - avoid sugar, fried and refined white flour as much as possible. If you can do this most of your problems will be solved!
- Fiber-Rich Foods
- Always try to have a fiber rich diet. Fiber acts as a prebiotic, feeding beneficial bacteria in the gut and promoting a healthy balance of gut microbiota. This supports optimal digestion, immune function, and overall gut health.
- Foods rich in fiber are - Vegetables, fruits, rice, chapati, oats, nuts and seeds. (No need to eat fancy food items like berries and broccoli)
- Probiotics and Fermented Foods
- Probiotics and fermented foods are beneficial for gut health due to their rich content of live beneficial bacteria which helps in better digestion.
- Curd and buttermilk is all you need for probiotics!
- You can also have homemade pickles.
- Hydration
- Always drink 3- 4 litters of water per day.
- Try to have green tea, lemon water with rock salt and coconut water on regular basis.
- ⚠️ AVOID SODAS AND ANY SUCH KIND OF DRINKS THEY ARE JUST KILLING YOUR DIGESTION!!!!
- Reducing Stress
- Higher the stress levels the worst will be your gut health and visa versa.
- Try to manage your stress levels as much as possible, here are some actionable things to do -
- Meditate
- Sleep 7 to 9 hours
- Workout or at least do any other physical activity
- Take breaks when needed!

Elimination Diet
- An elimination diet involves systematically removing certain foods or food groups from your diet for a period of time to identify trigger foods that may be causing adverse reactions or symptoms.
- Such as dairy, gluten, soy, eggs, nuts, lentils, or nightshade vegetables.
❓DOUBT - You may ask that “But Vikram just now you said nuts and vegetables are good for gut and now you are telling us to avoid it. why?”
👉 ANSWER - Sometimes, our gut becomes extremely sensitive. It becomes extremely difficult for it digest normal food that you used to eat regularly. So when the digestion is damaged we have to take extra care of it by eating super lite food such as - Fruits, rice, curd, khichdi, dalia, etc.

Slow Digestion Tips
- If you are facing a slow digestion make sure to be on intermediate fasting where you eat in a time span of 8 hours a day for example - 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Also, try to do fast at least once a week. Fasting is scientifically proven way to heal your digestion faster then anything else and in a much more effective way. (btw while making this guide am on fast too!)
- Have pineapple juice for better appetite.
